The last emperor's father seizes the capital

Orestes, a Roman general who had once served Attila the Hun, marched his forces into Ravenna and seized control of the Western Roman Empire's capital. Emperor Julius Nepos fled. Orestes then installed his young son, Romulus Augustulus, on the throne, unwittingly setting the stage for the final act of the Western Roman Empire's long demise.
