China Invades Goguryeo

An emperor sends his son to conquer Korea

Emperor Wendi of the Sui dynasty ordered his youngest son Yang Liang to lead a massive Chinese army and navy against the Korean kingdom of Goguryeo during the monsoon season. The ill-timed invasion, launched in retaliation for Goguryeo incursions, would end in catastrophic failure.
