Siege of Jerusalem
Roman legions storm the holy city's fortress
Titus, son of Emperor Vespasian, led Roman legions in a furious assault on the Fortress of Antonia north of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The battle devolved into savage street fighting as the Romans clashed with Jewish Zealots defending their sacred city. The storming of the fortress marked a critical escalation in the siege that would culminate in the destruction of the Second Temple.
