A soldier's son claims the throne by acclamation

At the legionary fortress of Eboracum in distant Britannia, the troops of the dying Constantius Chlorus proclaimed his son Constantine as their new emperor. It was a moment that would reshape the world. Constantine the Great went on to become the first Christian emperor, founded Constantinople as the new capital, and set in motion the Christianization of European civilization.

Mohammed Helmy Was Born

An Arab who risked everything to save Jewish lives

Born in Khartoum, Sudan, Mohammed Helmy moved to Berlin to study medicine and stayed to practice as a physician. During the Holocaust, he risked his life to shelter Jewish friends from Nazi persecution, hiding them in his home. In 2013, he became the first Arab recognized as Righteous Among the Nations by Israel's Yad Vashem memorial.
