Constantine Marries Fausta

A political marriage seals an imperial alliance

After divorcing his first wife Minervina, Emperor Constantine married Fausta, the daughter of retired Emperor Maximian. The marriage was a calculated political alliance designed to strengthen Constantine's claim to imperial legitimacy. But the union would end in tragedy: Constantine later ordered Fausta's execution under circumstances that remain debated by historians. Their marriage, born of ambition, became one of Roman history's most mysterious and disturbing domestic tales.

Prince Henry Was Born

A royal duke for the House of Windsor

Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, was born as the third son of King George V of the United Kingdom. Though never expected to reign, he served the crown with quiet dedication as a military officer and later as Governor-General of Australia. His life, lived in the shadow of his brothers Edward VIII and George VI, represented the steadfast service and understated duty that characterized the British royal family during the turbulent twentieth century.
