Emperor Xian of Han, the fourteenth and last emperor of the Eastern Han dynasty, was forced to abdicate by Cao Pi, son of the legendary warlord Cao Cao. The abdication ended over four centuries of Han rule, one of China's greatest imperial dynasties, and ushered in the tumultuous Three Kingdoms period that would inspire literature and legend for millennia.
